I had a baby pet tornado. Tiny little thing. Couldn't so much as stir a cup of tea.
It came in through the open bedroom window, and woke me up by brushing my face. I didn't know what it was at first, until I saw that it was reaching in through the window, and it went up all the way to the clouds. It was mostly invisible after about a meter or two, and the visible part was just grey.
So I adopted it as a pet. I didn't need to do much with it. I kept it company, and it would busy itself doing the dusting, and drying the clothes when I hung them out to dry. It liked to keep itself busy. I think it was a little bit worried that I might get bored and abandon it.
Fat chance of that. Pet for life.
I was standing on a grassy hill, and this guy recognised me as the Tornado Guy. I let it dance on the surface of my Thermos cup of coffee, making a little column of steam.
Then I sang "You say tor NAY do, and I say tor NAH do … Let's call the whole thing off!"
Now I look back, I think I made a friend of an air elemental.
