Basket

 

I was on the bus, going towards the veterinary clinic. It was a crowded bus, and I was carrying an empty pet carrier.

Yes, empty.

Yet somehow, I convinced everyone on the bus that I had an invisible cat inside. 'Oh, he's adorable, but you won't believe how hard it is for a vet to see him.'

I threw my voice, making a loud screech, and terrified some overly-curious dog. That served to convince the rest of the bus.

So I got off the bus at the stop beside the clinic, watched it disappear into the distance, then waited fifteen minutes for the next one, so I could do the same thing with a whole new audience. This time, the cat in the basket was still under anaesthesia, due to having just been spayed.
